1 Running of School:


RCF Thal has constructed a  primary school as well as a secondary and higher secondary school and a Jr collage of Science  in Thal , Dist: Raigad. Schools are run by Deccan Education Society, Pune . The complete expenditure incurred on infrastructure, educational material, salaries of the teachers is borne by RCF.  Yearly around 2000 children are the beneficiaries of this activity of the Company.

2 Drinking water supply to nearby villages:

RCF, Thal,  as a social obligation, supplies drinking water to its  seven nearby villages . The maintenance of the water pipelines in the mentioned villages is also looked after by the Company. Around 16000 residents of the abovementioned villages are availing this facility given by the Company.


3 Road repairs of villages:


RCF Thal has constructed asphalted roads in the villages adjacent to it at the time of factory erection in the year 1980. These roads are straightway connected to Thal and Navgaon villages from the boundary wall of the Company.  Company does regular repairs of these roads as per the demand of Gram Panchayat.  Company’s Civil Department takes initiative for this repairing work

4 Mid Day Meal Scheme:

 RCF has also started Mid Day Meal Scheme in non govt aided schools  of Chembur area which goes a long way in giving proper nutrition to the children in their area.  ISKCON. a renowned Food Relief Foundation supplies good and healthy meal to the children on behalf of RCF. Fresh seasonal vegetable, cereals etc. keep these lunches healthy, well balanced and interesting.   In all 6000 students are   availing the benefit of this nutritious meal through the scheme.

5 Mobile Medical Van

RCF has taken the initiative to commission the first mobile van in 2012 through Wockhardt Foundation   On an average 25 Villages are covered in weekly cycles and around 25000 Patients per van are benefited from free medical services including supply of medicines. Through this facility ailments like Blood pressure, Haemoglobin Levels, Oxygen saturation, Malaria hepatitis, Dengue, Typhoid and Diabetes, etc are treated on regular basis,One medical van attend to approx 25000 patients per annum. Based on the experience of its benefit to society, RCF took decision to extend the same. Since  2012-13, RCF has  four Such vans operating at Thal in Alibag and Chembur in Mumbai   It has been  a boon to rural as well as slum area of urban centres


6 Khel khel mein

“Khel Khel Main” is a programme which takes care of under privileged children below 5 year to 7 year.. WOCKHARDT Foundation runs a project  support 1200 children  from Vashi Naka, Chembur area. This proposal is for empowering 1200 marginalized children in the age group of 5 years to 10 years from   MHADA Community of Vashi Naka by setting up  six centres of edu-recreation with parallel learning in the area. A typical session, held 5 days a week, is for 2 hours in the community. 20 children come together in an  open space under the guidance of a mentor.


7 RCF  SUPER- 30

RCF has also stated a unique programme under which Centre for Social responsibility and Leadership has established a unit of Abhyanand Super 30 in Mumbai where about 30 underprivileged but talented students of  Maharashtra state are provided 11 months of free residential coaching for admission in IIT/NIT and other premier engineering colleges in 2013-14 sessions. Their entire expenditure of lodging boarding education and infrastructure  is funded by RCF.

 In its very fist year out total of 31 students 29 students have cleared IIT mains and 16 students have cleared IIT Advanced. Moreover in final selection round in IIT advanced out of 29 students 16 students have cleared IIT Advanced ensuring a seat in IITs.

8 Distribution of Sanitary Napkins

RCF with Wockhardt Foundation has started distribution of Sanitary napkins in slums of Trombay and in Thal Factory area. The distribution programme is undertaken thru four Mobile medical vans operational in the area. This unique programme has gone a long way in alleviating misery of Women in the area and contributed to great extent to up keeping the health and sanitation of area. Nearly 80000 females are likely to get benefit of this scheme in theyear 2014-15.


9. Bio Toilets Installation 

Against the backdrop of conservation of environment, and Swachh bharat Abhiyan  with assistance of DRDO, ten bio toilets are installed for scientific disposal of human waste. The beneficiaries are the truck drivers and mathadi workers engaged in the routine tasks for shifting of fertilizers and other miscellaneous jobs necessitated for smooth running of the plant.

10.Pathological laboratory at Chembur

RCF has decided to establish a pathology laboratory   with collaboration of Suphala Trust and Wockhardt Foundation near its Township in chembur The laboratory will undertake various tests free of cost   thousands of patients belonging to economically weaker sections of Trombay. Laboratory has become operational.The unit is located at Chembur and initial pathological tests of blood, urine & stool arranged for the beneficiaries. Nearly 25000 beneficiaries are likely to be benefitted by this   in the year 2014-15.

11. Contribution to Swach Bharat Abhiyaan

Effectively responding to the appeal of the Prime Minister of India for facilitating toilets for girls in schools RCF has arranged to contribute the sum of Rs. 1 Crore to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in October 2014.


12. Scholarship to SC/ST students

As a part of Corporate Social Responsibility RCF has evolved a scheme of sponsoring students belonging to SC/ST community, from the academic year 2011-12, Every year RCF adopts 10 SC/ST students, from Trombay ,Thal Unit and Marketing area for their further education from 5th Std. to 12th Std. for admission in  Shri. Shivaji Preparatory Military School is arranged by RCF. This school has strong focus on education and physical fitness of the students, due to which they can further make career either by joining Military through NDA, CDS, SSB, or Merchant Navy etc.
