GoI intends to set up of a new Brownfield ammonia-urea unit within the premises of BVFCL, Namrup. The proposed project, Namrup IV project entails setting up a Urea plant with an annual capacity of 1.27 Million MT.
The project is proposed to be implemented by a JV of National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), Oil India Limited (OIL), Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (RCF), Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL) and Government of Assam (GoA). The feasibility study for the project is being carried out by PDIL. The estimated Project Cost is about Rs.7600 Crore. The tentative overall time schedule for mechanical completion and commissioning of Namrup – IV Project is 36 months.
