With an aim to reduce specific consumption of raw materials and improve the energy efficiency of the plant, RCF is planning to set-up new AN Melt Plant at Trombay. The new plant shall consume less steam and hence the indigenously produced AN melt will be more economical.
The proposed project is planned as a response to Hon’ble PM’s call of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Due to shortage of AN melt, Coal production is affected. This in turn has affected the power generation from the Coal based plants. In order, to meet the growing power need of the country, enhancement in domestic production of AN melt is very important. The additional production from this AN melt project shall be substituting the existing imports. Leading to improved availability of Coal to the power plants and hence in turn shall ensure power security to the common people. The Project Capital Cost is Rs. 187.27 Crore. Project is scheduled for commissioning by September 2024.
