Water is used as a solvent OR medium for spraying different kinds of Agro chemicals. If the water used is alkaline in nature, a precipitation is formed which interferes smooth spray of solution. Hence it is necessary to maintain the pH of solvent in between 5.5 to 6.5
Ground water is the major source of irrigation. It contributes nearly 78% of irrigated area. Most of the boring well have high level of salts content. Hence this type of alkaline water is not suitable for spraying.
